Impulse Laser and NOPA System

The impulse laser from Clark MRX is a 250fs 10µJ IR (1054nm center wavelength) laser with a 1-20MHz repetition rate. The laser is used to pump a Non-collinear Optical Parametric Amplifier (NOPA) system at 1-2MHz using the second or third harmonic of the Impulse. The NOPA offers a continuous range of tunable wavelengths from 540nm-650nm using the third harmonic and 650-900nm using the second harmonic pump pulses. The output power of the NOPA is up to 100mW for the third harmonic beam and up to 250mW for the second harmonic beam, both with a pulse duration as low as 10fs.  In addition the fundamental wavelength can also have an output at about 2W with 250fs pulses for sum-frequency-mixing with the NOPA output.  The system was added in June 2011 to the Laboratory of Ultrafast Dynamics.
